„Abrams” tanks and „Bradley” fughting vehicles for the next rotation in the operation „Atlantic Resolve” to arrive in Riga
On March 9, 2015 the offloading of 1st Brigade 3rd Infantry Division equipment from ship „Liberty Promise” will take place in Riga Port. 1st Brigade 3rd Infantry Division will replace 2nd Cavalry Division in US operation „Atlantic Resolve” in the Baltic States.
The M1A2 tanks „Abrams” and M2A3 „Bradley” fighting vehicles along the support vehicles will be offloaded in Riga.
Minister of Defence Raimonds Vējonis, Deputy Chief of Mission of U.S. Embassy Riga and Major General John R. O’Connor became the Commanding General of 21st Theater Sustainment Command will attend the event.
Operation „Atlantic Resolve” is a demonstration of our continued commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to the enduring peace and stability in the region, in light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine specifically.
Operation „Atlantic Resolve” will remain in place as long as the need exists to reassure our allies and deter Russia from regional hegemony.
