Commander of NATO Special Operations Headquarters to visit Latvia

Lieutenant General Marshall Webb, Commander of the NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ), is due to arrive in Latvia on a three-day visit on January 19.

 

Lt. Gen. Webb is scheduled to meet with Latvian Defense Minister Raimonds Bergmanis and Chief of Defense Lt. Gen. Raimonds Graube to discuss regional security issues and the development of the Latvian Special Operations Unit.

 

The NSHQ commander will visit the Joint Headquarters, National Defense Academy and the Latvian NATO Force Integration Unit.

 

The NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ) is the centrepiece of the NATO SOF Transformation Initiative (NSTI). It provides focused Special Operations advice to the SACEUR and the NATO Chain of Command and provides on a collaborative, inter-dependent platform to enhance the Alliance SOF network.
