Czech Republic also joins the International Drone Coalition for Ukraine
Czech Republic joined the drone coalition for Ukraine led by Latvia and the United Kingdom after its delegation signed memorandum of understanding during the NATO's 75th Anniversary Summit in Washington, D.C, on Thursday, 11 July.
“I am absolutely delighted to welcome Czech Republic in the Drone Coalition that helps Ukraine fight back the Russian invasion. Every member state of the Coalition can make significant contribution to Ukraine’s efforts, and also support development of their national industry at the same time,” Defence Minister Andris Sprūds underlined.
Number of Coalition members has increased to 16 after the accession of the Czech Republic.
As reported earlier, member states of the Drone Coalition signed memorandum of understanding on coordination of cooperation, development and application of drone technologies in Ukraine and towards strengthening of member state defence capabilities during the NATO Washington Summit.
Countries of the Drone Coalition have already made major contribution to Ukraine’s army by supplying the drones. Latvia allocated €20 million for Drone Coalition this year. Manufacturers and army experts can also test their drones in Latvia and thus work on drone technology upgrades uninterruptedly.
Great Britain, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Sweden are the other countries that form the Coalition together with Latvia.
